As both a final rehearsal and a community performance, the STOMP Troopers visited the Louisiana Children's Museum to perform on Sensory Friendly Family Night. On this special monthly evening, kids with special needs and their families are invited to explore the museum after hours fro free, checking out the exhibits and participating in thematic activities (such as a ball pit or trick or treating) in a welcoming and safe environment.

This month, the theme was, of course, Mardi Gras.  Kids made hankies at the art activity table, then entered the museum theater to see the STOMP Troopers perform their signature drumming (without sticks to reduce the noise level).  They then led the kids in a second line all over the museum.  Some impromptu dancing, acrobatics and a little excessive celebration broke out amongst the crowd as the spectators got caught up in the festive energy.

"Saturday's going to be AWESOME!"  said Oliver.
And how are the other STOMP Troopers feeling about performing in a few short days?  Pumped?  Anxious?  Any stage fright or second thoughts?

I think Jhett's doodle says it all:
